RustStop - An Electronic Rust Prevention system now available at half the price of other systems... While most systems will simply state that they stop or even reverse the corrosion process, RustStop use proven technology and demonstrate clearly how their unit works. The RustStop RS-5 uses a mix of two technologies, one of which has been around for years in most household hot water services - sacrificial anodes. The RustStop RS-5 Control Unit introduces an impressed current (as the vehicle, unlike a hot water system, does not always contain moisture) into the system, effectively diverting and attracting the corrosion to the anodes, which RustStop have dubbed Rust Magnets. Also, unlike many other systems, the Rust Magnets do not require the vehicles paint to be taken back to bare metal during installation. The anodes can also be replaced after some years, and are a visible indicator that the unit is working. Though this system uses advanced technology, the design of it is very simple and reliable, and creates very little load on the vehicle battery. As these systems are of a simple design, they are suitable for D.I.Y installation.
